What is IISFM (Integrated Information System for Foodgrains Management) ?

The "Integrated Information System for Foodgrains Management" (IISFM) is a Web based Integrated Management Information System for FCI. It captures the complete workflow of FCI from Depot to Head Office levels and extends a new way of reconciliation of stock figures thereby transforming the current Depot set-up into a computerized environment. Integrated Information System for Food grains Management is divided into five modules to meet FCI hierarchical requirements.

Depot Information System for Food grains Management for Food Storage  Depot.
District Information System for Foodgrains Management for District Office.
Region Information System for Foodgrains Management for Regional Office.
Zonal Information System for Foodgrains Management for Zonal Office.
Integrated Information System for Foodgrains Management for Head Office.

The application uses component based architecture, the main characteristic of multi-tier-layering model. Business logic works between the user and data services by implementing business rules which define how the application is working and controlling the data that is being accessed, manipulated and interpreted for making business decisions.

With the implementation of the IISFM project, the Management Information System can be strengthened as it will be instrumental in :

a) Ensuring the correctness of Depot Stock figures.
b) Determining the storage loss and gain automatically.
c) Making the data pertaining to storage and availability of stocks in various type of storage i.e. open, covered and silos available regularly.
d) Regular availability of unit wise data of day-to-day transactions like receipts, issues, movement details and QC inspections.
e) Maintaining the stack-wise receipt and issue details.
